Dear Fellow Storyteller,

Welcome to What U Talking Bout Family — a space born from heartbeats, bedtime reflections, school drop-off monologues, and moments of self-doubt and deep joy. It is here that stories from diverse families gather, sip tea together, nod their heads knowingly, and create ripples in a vast ocean of parenting voices.

Founded by the intentional and ever-curious Zayric Droshar, our mission stretches beyond anecdotes. We’re stringing together a living, breathing mosaic of modern parenthood — where you don’t have to choose between love and learning, between asking the hard questions and sharing a laugh at a toddler’s logic. We hope to build a place of reflection, honesty, vulnerability… and yes, growth. Always growth.

And That’s Why We’re Writing to You

We believe every parent, aunt, uncle, grandparent, sitter, educator — every person — carries a lesson worth offering. Maybe you’ve survived a wild twin tantrum and found light in it. Maybe your family is evolving and you’re giving your child language for who they are. Perhaps you’re navigating grief, joy, co-parenting, or first words — and a quiet part of you said, “Someone else should know this moment exists.”

Well, we want to hear it. And so does our growing village.

What Makes a Fit for Our Community?

Your voice. You don’t need to be a “parenting expert” — whatever that means. But do speak clearly. Do be honest. Do let your heart guide your pen. On our walls you’ll find:

Why Share Here?

Because stories shape what we think is possible.

Your reflections could be the nudge a new parent needs. Your method of making dinner into a circle of connection — not chaos — may inspire hundreds. Your vulnerability on navigating your child’s diagnosis might make another parent cry… and then breathe easier. We don’t want polished. We want real. Within our safe and positive space, your voice matters.

We’re here not just to publish — but to create conversations and companionhood. Our team works with every writer closely to preserve their voice and heart. You write, we collaborate, and together, we reach a vast tapestry of families each seeking a deeper connection to themselves and those they care for.

The Editorial Compass

To help guide your pitch or story submission, please read these gentle lights:

  • Length and Format: We welcome submissions approx. 700–1,200 words in length. Epistolary reflections, essays, letters to your child, and even thoughtful lists are all welcome.
  • Topics that Resonate: Include your take on growth as a parent, your child’s unique journey, generational wisdom, or even unexpected learnings from seemingly ordinary moments.
  • Originality: We prefer original, unpublished works. If your piece has appeared elsewhere, let us know and we’ll consider reprinting it with permissions.
  • Tone: Honest. Gentle. Curious. Irreverently hopeful.

Ready to Submit?

Please send your article, pitch, or ideas to us at [email protected]. Include a brief bio (3–5 lines), a headshot (optional), and links to your work if available. You may also tell us why this story matters to you.

Our editorial team aims to reply within 2–3 weeks. Every submission is read with warmth and care — promise.

Still Wondering If You Belong?

Let us be clear: if you’re drawn to this space, if you’re feeling the flutter of “maybe I could share this”—you belong. Whether you’re a professional writer or this is the first time you’ve dared, we’re eager for your perspective. Our reader base reflects the tenderness and diversity of real-life parenting.
